Christmas!

The Christmas season was definitely a fun one, celebrating with our new baby boy, we had many firsts! The following pictures are in reverse order of events, I uploaded them wrong.

Christmas at home in GV on the 26th. Santa visited Beckett while we were out of town!

He got some cool blocks that rattle (see above), blocks that will help him learn his shapes (see below), and lots of books! Santa was good to him, of course, Beckett hasn't had much time to be bad. :)

At NeNe and Papa's house. Santa visited there too and gave Beckett some things in his stocking, he's cool like that.

At grandma and grandpa's house. Santa visited there too! Again, Santa is really cool.

Beckett gave grandma and grandpa a picture of himself. You can only do that up to a certain age...not sure when that is, we'll let grandma and grandpa decide!

Just chillin' with daddy at grandma and grandpa's house. Beckett likes to watch football with daddy.

Beckett got to meet his great grandma Vulgamott! He loved laying on her lap!
Family Christmas picture. Maybe next year we will do the cute Christmas card where the picture is part of the card...this year, just too much to organize!

Mommy Goes to Work

The hardest day of my life - December 14, 2009.

8, 9, and 10 Weeks!

I continue to be amazed at our little man's development. He went to the doctor around 9 weeks to get his vaccines, which happened to be 3 days before Christmas. That was a "first time mom mistake"! I will never again schedule vaccines before a holiday or big weekend! Beckett did amazing, but the shots definitely threw him for a loop and was not himself for the next couple of days. However, he pulled through wonderfully. Beckett weighed in at 12 lbs 6 oz, and is in the 92nd percentile in height at 24 1/2 inches!

He is starting to transition to 3 naps a day by slowly stretching out the length of them. Hopefully this will help him take better naps at the sitter in a week! He is also eating more at each feeding (around 5 ounces), which means he isn't as interested in eating as often. So, we're working on going from 6 bottles down to 5 bottles a day. In a couple of weeks, I am going to experiment with dropping his 10:00 pm bottle. I think he can do it!

Up-to-Date

"Lil" Beckett is no longer "little" anymore! He is growing like a doctor's dream! Closely approaching 8 weeks (on Dec. 14th), we now think that he is close to 12 lbs! I recently told Zach that I have to use my muscles to pick Beckett up out of his bassinet! Everything is growing from his head, chest, arms, tummy, and legs! His smile is contagious and he is responding to everyone around him (but especially his mommy and daddy)! He's also starting to take longer naps during the day and actually slept through the night last night! He is maturing out of his newborn phase and definitely out of his newborn clothes! Here's a progression of pictures from his birth day. Hope you enjoy viewing these pictures as much as we love taking them! We love you 'lil Beck! Keep growing!

Visiting Salisbury!

Have I mentioned that we are totally in love with our son? Well, we are... This past weekend we took our little man to visit his grandparents and great grandparents in Salisbury for the first time! We had an amazing weekend! It was filled with lots of cuddles, lovins, and kisses! But, we (mommy and daddy) had a problem. The entire weekend, we got to love on Beckett a total of about 30 minutes, which was during the 2:00 am feeding, because his extended family was hogging him! It has never been so hard to share something or someone in our entire lives!

We returned home to GV on Sunday evening and the only thing either of us wanted to do was cuddle and love on our son, trying to make up for lost time! Today, Monday, as I write this post, Beckett is cuddled up on my chest fast asleep. Ahhh, this is why I love being a mommy...especially to Beckett, who was created by God specifically for Zach and Diane. He is perfect for us.

Happy Halloween!...and a few other life events...

We had a busy, busy weekend! Mommy celebrated her birthday on Friday with 10 visitors! Okay, maybe they weren't visiting mommy, but she likes to think they were! One of our visitors was Beckett's friend Kaiden. He's only 4 months old, but he out-sizes Beckett by at least double! It's hard to think Beckett will be that big in a few short months!

We also celebrated Halloween on Saturday. Although our trick-or-treating consisted of having a bottle and taking short naps, we still had fun dressing Beckett up in his tiger costume. He made the cutest tiger ever!

Then on Sunday we took Beckett outside for a walk! He did great and seemed to love it! The weather was perfect at 70 degrees, so the biggest problem we had was the sun shining in Beckett's eyes!

Today, Monday, November 2, 'lil Beckett is 2 weeks old! How the time flies! Since he's been here, we've learned so much about him! He loves to be held and be around people. If he's not in the same room as everyone else (and he's awake), he thinks he's missing out! Beckett also likes to make mommy and daddy crack up when he makes faces in his sleep. He loves his bouncy seat. Loves to give mommy kisses (really it's because he's hungry and he's looking for his bottle!). Loves to cuddle. Loves to eat. And so far, he seems to just love life!

Here's a few pics from our fun weekend!

Fun at Home!

We came home from the hospital on Wednesday. Immediately, we felt overwhelmed with transitioning our lives to include (or should I say, revolve around) Beckett. Where are the diapers? What time did he eat last? We need to start laundry. Beckett's crying...what is he telling us? Where are my pain meds? Where's my cell phone? Mom!

Although the first couple of hours we felt as though we started from ground zero, it was also refreshing to be home. Just the three of us. Starting our lives together. We were able to spend the entire evening admiring our son's individual characteristics. From his dark hair and long toes to the way he smiles while he's sleeping. He is an incredible work of God's!

We have had several visitors so far including Aunt Krissy, Aunt Too Too, Elizabeth, Grandma and Grandpa, and Aunt Lou. Grandma & Grandpa stayed with us for a couple of days. It was amazing to have my mom here to share some of my first "mommy moments" with. We changed a diaper that literally required 20 wipes, she helped me figure out the breast pump and other breast feeding issues, and took an early morning shift with Beckett. Grandpa Roling was at Beckett's every call! As Beckett slept, Grandpa admired him. As Beckett was awake, Grandpa cooed at him. We'll never forget some of our first memories with our son, and having family present, made these moments even more enjoyable.

Here's a few pictures of our first memories at home!

Grandma and Beckett...she is a FABULOUS grandma!
